The XAIR Plastic OTR Intake has a super tough one piece hi temp plastic moulded construction so has the same look as other plastic factory parts under the bonnet at an affordable price. Simply add the matching Plastic Radiator Cover Surrounds to tidy the Engine Bay and complete the factory look as pictured! Intake Neck Size is 102mm OD and 96mm ID - suits/matches Standard Throttle Bodies.
The Black Gelcoat OTR has a shiny upmarket High Gloss Finish which gives a "Better Than Factory" look. Combine with matching Gloss Black finish Radiator Cover Surrounds. Intake Neck Size is 108mm OD and 102mm ID - suits/matches Standard as well as Aftermarket Larger 102mm Fast Type Throttle Bodies.
Carbon Fibre has the best Anti Heat Transfer properties of all the Materials we construct the OTR's from and with its Gloss Finish also has the ultimate look to go with it's function. This is the Control Airbox on the NZV8 TLX Race Cars. Intake Neck Size is 108mm OD and 102mm ID - suits/matches Standard as well as Aftermarket Larger 102mm Fast Type Throttle Bodies.
XAIR Performance specialises in the manufacture of Over The Radiator Cold Air Intakes for Commodore and has been manufacturing this type of product for over 11 years.
The main advantage over other OTRCAI 's is the Venturi effect created by the top shape of the XAIR OTR Body combined with the Filter Size. A massive voluime of Cold Air from in front of the Radiator is rammed/sucked straight through the filter then channelled directly up and around the curved top section creating a Venturi effect and forcing its way into the Throttle Body.
The XAIR OTR has the largest air filter panel on the market, the filter size is 460mm x 180mm. Extensive testing and research has proven that the larger the area, the less restriction & servicing required. This also makes them ideal for head & cam modified cars etc.
The filter brand is Green Filter – known to be one of the best in the world (as used on World Rally Cars) and proven to flow substantially more and filtrate finer dust particles than other brands such as K&N etc. In 99% of applications the Green Filters do not require re-oiling, simply wash with warm soapy water every standard 10,000km or 15,000km Service! Guaranteed for 100,000km! The price on the filter alone is $199.00, this is a top quality filter.
Three months and over 140 man hours were put into developing the XAIR OTRCAI for the VE Commodore which also fits VE Series 2 and VF. Unique features include stepped bottom for fitment of the knobs on top of the Radiator which means twice as much air flowing through into the neck/intake area = massive performance gains!
Will also fit same generation WM and WN Statesman, Caprice and HSV Grange Models.
Easy to bolt on in half an hour yourself! All kits are supplied with step by step pictured installation instructions.
A unique feature of all XAIR OTRCAI's is the ability to run them with the factory Air Flow Meter (MAF) left in. So unlike other products that require the car to be mafless tuned to work you can now bolt them straight on without a tune to get INSTANT POWER GAINS AND FUEL SAVINGS.
The Standard OTR Kit comes with Silicon Attachment Hoses & Stainless Steel Hose Clamps for installing with the MAF. Also includes Powder Coated Alloy Brackets to Tilt the Radiator Back and Breather Line Extension Hose.
There is also a pre-drilled hole in the back of the OTRCAI Body with rubber bung for plug in of the separate Air Temp Sensor if Tuning MAFLESS. The OTR can also be supplied with Mafless Attachment Hose Kit for no extra cost, please choose MAF In or MAFLESS when ordering.
Holden have made changes to the top of the Radiator on new MY12 cars built after September 2011, we refer to these cars as VE2. VF also runs the same new Radiator Set Up. There is now a plastic spine/ridge moulded onto the top of the radiator plastic and the Radiator Support Brackets mount in a different place. The XAIR VE OTR still fits these new cars perfectly but now sits 10mm higher than VE1. VE2/VF specific Radiator Support brackets and Hose Kit are supplied for these cars. If you are not sure what model you have simply check the build date on your VIN Plate. Please choose from either VE1 or VE2/VF Attachment Kit when ordering.
One of our initial test cars was a stock 2010 E2 6.2 ls3 HSV GTS with 4000km on the clock.
On the Dyno it made 248kw at the rear wheels stock and 271kw at the rear wheels after the X-Air OTRCAI was installed (straight bolt on, no tune)! Torque went from 441nm to 480nm!
We then tuned the GTS with the MAF left in and gained a further 14rwkw and 20nm.

Customer is very very happy. After driving the car during all 3 stages it's a totally different car powerwise but the most impressive difference is in the instant throttle response and mid range power.
In August 2010 a XAIR Dealer had a VE in their shop already fitted with a Cam, Tune and another brand of OTRCAI which runs the much smaller filter. They did a straight swap over of the other brand OTRCAI with our X-Air OTRCAI and re-dyno'd the car. It made another 15 RWKW and 25NM!
The X-Air High Flow OTRCAI Body has been designed to create a Venturi effect and Ram Cold Air in. Combined with the High Flow Green Filter this means that your car is receiving a lot more volume of cold air than was ever intended hence a lot more power and torque is being made. This is typically at least 20rwkw and 40nm more at the rear wheels than factory.
On some VE models we’ve found this exceeds the factory Torque Management settings. If you feel the car hesitate slightly during heavy acceleration then your car is probably making too much power for the standard settings.
On some of the newer VE2/VF AFM (Active Fuel Management) Engine cars the factory Fuel Trim settings are more sensitive so can also be effected by any modifications such as Big Bore Exhausts as well as OTR Intake. These mods by themselves or combined can possibly cause the Fuel Trims to exceed the factory parameters and trigger an engine check light especially doing a lot of open road or motorway cruising.
If any of the above is happening then we recommend you take your car to a reputable tuning company and get the settings modified.
To make the most out of the OTRCAI a full MAF or MAFLESS Custom Dyno Tune should be done. Expect an additional 15-20kw gain plus even better fuel economy over just bolting on the XAIR OTRCAI.

Factory looking plastic panel that covers the exposed area left in the inner guard when removing the factory airbox on any VE or VF.
Matching Gloss Black and Carbon Fibre Infill Panels also available for that upmarket/show look that plastic can't provide!
Also available in matching finishes to the OTR are Radiator Cover Surrounds which really finish off the underbonnet appearance nicely. These are available in Plastic, Gloss Black and Genuine Carbon Fibre.
The Radiator Cover Surrounds for all VE2/VF Cars are now supplied as two pieces due to the OTR sitting 10mm higher. The one piece Gloss Black and Carbon VE1 Surrounds in the pictures will not fit VE2/VF for this reason.
Note : Brand new design Surrounds are now available in Gloss Black and Carbon Fibre as per pictures. These are in stock to suit all VF1 and VF2 V8 cars as well as LSA. We also have a full one piece surround in this new design which can be cut/trimmed to suit any VF so is ideal for custom engine installs or stock intakes etc. Matching Gloss Black and Carbon Fibre Infill Panels also available for that upmarket/show look that plastic can't provide!
Plastic Surrounds for VF not available as the Bonnet Strut hits on the Passenger Side Surround forcing it downwards.
Holden VF2 LS3 powered Cars feature the new Air Intake Sound Enhancer Pipe that goes through to the Cabin. If you want to retain this when installing the OTR then order the OTR Kit and add the VF2 Sound Enhancer Connector Elbow. Note : This has to be fitted to the OTR Intake at the XAIR factory, cannot be retro fitted afterwards.
Some VE2/VF Auto cars also feature an additional Factory fitted Heat Exchanger Trans Cooler in front of the Radiator (normally HSV and Statesman/Caprice models). To fit the XAIR OTR to these cars they require the large factory cast alloy mounting bracket to be replaced with our Low Profile Alloy Heat Exchanger Adaptor Bracket as pictured below. Please order this separately.
Dynaliner is a Anti Heat Transfer Material that we've been using on the back of our XAIR OTR's in race car applications with great success. Intake temperatures have been as much as 5 degrees lower again with Dynaliner installed! It can be supplied for Gloss Black and Carbon Fibre OTR Intakes only. Not suitable for Plastic OTR's as it doesn't stick to plastic. Order Separately.
Depending on driving conditions (exposure to dirt/debris/mud etc) with regular cleaning the XAIR OTR Green Filter should last up to 100000km. Order Replacement Green Filters and Cleaning Kits Separately.
