XAIR PERFORMANCE VE & VF PROGRESSIVE RATE LOWERING KIT

VE/VF Commodores with stock suspension traditionally sit a little higher in the front than the back so have that sagged rear end look. The front tyre to guard gap from factory is huge which takes away from the look of the car especially when larger diameter aftermarket wheels are fitted. Bring your Commodore ride height down to where it should be!

All our Progressive Rate Lowering Springs feature a softer top section to allow for and soak up all the small bumps and undulations which are part of NZ roads. As the shocks compress the spring further the stiffer bottom section comes into play reducing body roll and improving handling especially during hard cornering.

For V6 & V8 Models we run a different weight front spring to allow for Engine weight difference.

For Ute and Wagon Stage 1 we supply these standard with a Heavy Duty Rear Spring so are suitable for load carrying.

Stage 1 : Front drop 30-40mm, Rear Drop 25-35mm - Perfect for leveling out the car without compromising driveability or ride quality. Still able to drive as per normal without having to worry about scraping bumpers up driveways etc so is perfect if you're using your car as an everyday driver.

Stage 2 : Front drop 45-55mm, Rear Drop 40-50mm - The lowest you can go with Factory Shocks creating a tight tyre to Guard gap all round. A slightly stiffer ride than factory yet still comfortable and easy to drive every day. Note : Will also work in VE & VF Wagon as its the same platform as sedan but recommend replacement heavy duty rear shocks if carrying loads.

Stage 3 : Front drop 55-90mm, Rear Drop 50-90mm - Coilover Full Height and Damper Adjustable Suspension with Custom XAIR Spec Springs. If you want to take your VE or VF Commodore to the track or simply put it on the ground then this is the kit for you. We have spent years getting the perfect set up for both comfort, driveability and handling, if you like the way our slammed VF commodores look at the heights pictured but think they are all for show then come into our shop for a test drive. The Black and White VF SS's are a full 35mm lower than our Stage 2 Lowering Kit cars and yes we drive these cars everyday as well as take them to the track! Damper settings are able to be changed within 1 minute via the adjustable knobs on top of the shocks. Rear Damper adjustment is made by removing the rubber bungs directly under the boot carpet which we install directly above the top of the shock top. Note : Low Volume Certification is required for Stage 3 which we can arrange at the price listed.

We recommend a Wheel Alignment after lowering and use the experts at Advantage Pukekohe for this. They get the car to within factory specs wherever possible to ensure perfect driveability without compromising tyre wear etc.

When installing the Front Springs / Coilovers we also recommend replacing the Front Top Strut Mounts and Bearings as these are common for the Bearings to fail and the Mounts to Split. These come as a kit and can be fitted with no extra labour cost as the Strut Assemblies are already Apart.

Note : If using aftermarket wheels with a more aggressive offset or wider tyres your car will require a guard roll.

Note : HSV models come down to the same final heights but in actual measurement will be a slightly less drop than above measurements as they are already lower from the factory. Will also fit same generation WM, WN, Statesman, Caprice and HSV Grange Models. Please specify your model once ordered. HSV Models with Factory MRC (Magnetic Ride Control) Suspension use a special Spring Set and final height sits a little Higher than Stage 2.

Please check out the pictures in the gallery as you will see a car with Factory 19" Wheels with standard offset can often look a lot different height to a car with aftermarket 20" Staggered Wheels with the same suspension!
